The head of the lab is Dr. Roberto Refinetti, a physiological psychologist with expertise in

Biography
Of
Italian ancentry, Dr. Refinetti was born in
São Paulo, Brazil, in 1957
and came to the United States in 1983.
Dr. Refinetti married Tracy in 2000. He has a daughter from a previous marriage (Lauren),
a step-son (Brendan), and two dogs (Maggie and Stormy).

Artistic Activities
Dr. Refinetti spends most of his time at the lab or at the office,
but he has dedicated some time to artistic activities, especially in the past. His
excursions into the artistic world have included music, poetry, photography, and
painting.
He wrote poetry in his native language (Portugue- se) as a young men
and published an epic poem, Robertti I, in 1977. To see a sample poem (along with an English transla- tion), click on the book cover on the right.
He plays the piano and has composed many ori- ginal pieces. To listen to some of his compositions,

He also played the drums in the 1970s and 1980s. He was a member of a progressive-rock band as well as of a "classical"
percussion orchestra. He has not played the drums since he entered graduate school.
Travel
Dr. Refinetti does not enjoy traveling often. Nonetheless, he has traveled to many places
in Europe and the Americas for business or pleasure.
He visited
the Atlantis in Paradise Island (Bahamas) in 2000.
He was in Paris (France) during the bicentennial of the French Revolution in July 1989.
He has been to Sicily (Italy) thrice.
