General Information
|
|
Various MIDI and MP3 files are listed below. You may listen to them by
simply clicking on their play buttons. MIDI files are very short and can be downloaded very
rapidly. This is the case because they are not real recordings but only sets of instructions
to your computer ("music sheets"). Therefore, the quality of the sound
depends greatly on your computer's musical talent. MP3 files are true
recordings. MP3 files are relatively long files (several megabytes) and take longer to
download. Notice that the piece Bioclock is entirely synthesized. All instruments and
vocals were digitally synthesized on a computer prior to recording. More than just entertainment,
this piece is a technical work of voice and instrument synthesis. Lauren and
War have human vocals (poor as they may be).

Technical Considerations
|
|
Please be aware that standardization of sound software is very poor.
If you experience problems while listening to the files on-line through your web browser,
you should just save them to disk and listen to them after you exit the browser (using,
for instance, the standard Windows Media Player). As a matter of fact, standardization
is so poor that your browser may not even display the Media Player console (which you can
use to pause or rewind a musical piece once it has been downloaded). If the console is not
displayed, you can still listen to the compositions. In this case, the play buttons by the
composition titles will cause a new window to be opened using the media player associated
with your browser. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Bioclock
Biological clocks are biological structures
capable of timing biological functions.
One type of biological clock is the
circadian pacemaker, which is located in the
suprachiasmatic nucleus in the brain.
The circadian pacemaker generates circadian
rhythms. Circadian rhythms are biological
rhythms with a period of approximately 24 hours.
Our cycle of sleep and rest is an
example of a circadian rhythm.
Our body temperature oscillates each day.
Day after day, it goes up and down,
up and down, up and down ...

War
She was the first that I found
When bombs were exploding all around.
She was engulfed in the night.
I just wanted to stop the fight.
We ran very fast out of town
And raced as the rain kept pouring down.
We found a safe place out of sight.
We held to our lives with all our might.
And then, as we moved back in town,
A bomb came our way and killed us all ...
